News on TILOS Version 8

As the core of TILOS 8 was completely overworked and we have added some nice features, there are of course some changes in the User Interface. However, we have succeeded in keeping the look-and-feel of TILOS 7 – so it will be easy just to start with TILOS 8.

I ‘d like to present some small, but nice changes, that are making life easier with TILOS 8:

More than one Subproject visible in a time-distance-cell

It is now possible to display more than one Subproject container in a time-distance cell. This may help

more subprojets

  • visualizing parallel tracks
  • showing different stages of a project
  • displaying a new way of baselining

Overworked table grid interface

The behavior of the table data grid was overworked completely. Now the table grids have a more common look-and-feel and new fuctions:

new-grid-features

  • Tab key will jump to the next field in the row
  • With the cursor keys it is possible to navigate in the rows and columns
  • Pulldown values can be selected by typing keys
  • In general the whole table grid can be used without mouse, only with the keyboard
  • By clicking the column header the rows get sorted by the values in this column, even in the gantt chart panel

Copy an Paste

Copy and Paste has beeon overworked completely: A new communication technology transports information even to different program sessions: It will be possible to copy objects like tasks or profiles, even whole subprojects, to a second TILOS session (e.g. a different file).

Scrolling while linking tasks

Finally If you want to draw a link to a successor task, that is currently not visible on the screen, TILOS 8 now scrolls horizontally and vertically, following your mouse move.
